The philosophy of Volga Foods centres on this belief. A century-year-old heritage of taste and delight has surpassed boundaries and sea to connect with the hearts of people across the world. This deep-rooted connection and relationship are what makes Volga Foods a true, grounded and down to earth business.
Volga Foods as a name was established in the late 1980s. But the seeds of a rich tradition that the business carries even today, were sowed in the 1920s. This tradition is about relationships- Relationships Sans Boundaries. The traders from Arabian countries who came to Kozhikkode many decades ago were captivated by the Delicious ‘Almond Sarbath’ made by Aboohaji. This delightful drink brought in more foreign traders who on their travel back took with them the taste of Kozhikode. The journey of this enterprise called Volga foods thus started in a small shop of Aboohaji, the grandfather of the present generation of businessmen in the family.
The ingenious journey of Aboohaji blossomed with exports of his drink to Middle Eastern countries. In time this drink became a much sought after refreshment in shops and departmental stores in the Gulf region. This revolutionising drink was branded as “Thadi” in the early 1980s, a nomenclature connected to the long-bearded Aboohaji. “Thadi” Sarbath soon became the talk of the town in the Middle East. Even today the legacy of “Thadi” lives on. By the late 1980’s Volga Foods was established as a company, and the generation after Aboohaji took the centre stage. Alikoya Haji, son of Aboohaji laid the foundation of Volga Foods as a company. By this time the company also decided to strengthen its presence in the Indian market with Almond sarbath as a flagship brand along with Cashewnut, Sarasaparilla, Strawberry, Pista sarbath and fruit syrups.
The visionary farsightedness of Aboohaji, the resourceful business plans of Alikoya Haji and the committed presence of the new generation of business leaders from the family has kept Volga Foods as a leading entity in the industry not only in India but in the Middle East and neighbouring countries too.
Along with the most successful “Thadi” brand, today Volga Foods makes its presence felt in the highly competitive industry with their new line of quality products under the brand name 'Masters'. Masters makes high-quality products like Jams, Sauces, Milk mixes, Vinegar and Syrups. Masters products have also become a home favourite in India and the Gulf countries very quickly.
The fame of Aboohaji and his dream lives on, with the new generation of business minds who still believe in the philosophy of "Relationships that begin with taste". Even today the products of Volga Foods have the taste of truth and togetherness that has built relationships beyond business and across boundaries.
